We were founded by Michelle Croze, a Licensed Teacher with over ten years of experience as an educator and sixteen years of research and experience in Holistic/Alternative Health.  In addition to being a veteran teacher and graduate of Boston College, Michelle is a Shamanic Practitioner and Counselor who graduated from a three year shamanic training program at Spirit Hollow, Usui Reiki Master-Teacher, Medical Intuitive, Life Coach, and Legally Ordained Interfaith Minister who graduated from The Esoteric Theological Seminary School.  She wanted to make a difference and help people to feel their very best. She has worked with all ages and backgrounds and has also studied other forms of alternative medicine, including EFT, NLP, and Guided Meditation.  Her long-term goal is to go non-profit, so she can help even more people.

     Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction, relaxation, and healing.  It is administered by "laying on hands" or by working just above a person's body, in their energy field.  This is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and causes us to be alive (similar to the Chinese concept of "Chi"). When there is a block in this energy, we can develop health or emotional problems over time.  Some of the principles behind this form of healing are similar to Acupressure, Acupuncture, and Reflexology. Rei means "Universal" or "Higher Power," and Ki means "Life Force Energy."  So the combination of terms means "Universal Life Force Energy."  This spiritual and physical healing technique, which is believed to be ancient in origin, was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the 1800's, and eventually made its way to America. 

    

     Reiki is relaxing and calming, treating the whole person, including body, emotions, mind, and spirit.  It brings about feelings of peace, security, and well being.  Often, a client will fall asleep to wake at the end of the treatment refreshed and energized.  Some people also feel a warming sensation before drifting off to sleep.  Anyone can benefit from Reiki, as it balances energy, promotes relaxation, and even helps to manage pain caused by a wide variety of ailments!  This form of energy healing is being offered in many hospitals before and after surgery, and as complimentary medicine for other procedures, such as cancer treatments and hospice care.  It is one of the gentlest forms of alternative healing.

 

 

     Shamanic Healing is also an ancient art.  Every tribal culture in history had a "shaman" to assist them in daily life.  Regardless of their location in the world, shamans from most cultural groups did many of the same core activities to help others, even though they were thousands of miles away from each other.  Each culture called their shamans by different names, sometimes depending upon the specific work they were doing, whether specializing in Plant Medicine, communicating with spirits, conducting ceremonies, etc.  The word "shaman" is Siberian, and means "one who sees in the dark." 

 

     A shaman or shamanic practitioner is a person who uses trance and meditation or prayer, Earth energy, guides, power animals, and various helping spirits for insight and to assist others in healing, or to give advice.  (It is interesting to note that much of the work done by famous religious/cultural figures, like Jesus, Moses, Abraham, Muhammad, Black Elk, and Buddha, was shamanic in nature.)  A shaman goes through a period of difficult initiation, often begun during or after a crisis, followed by years of extensive training.  Frequently, various tools, like drums, feathers, rattles, or crystals/stones, will be used to assist the shaman in the work of helping others.  There are a wide variety of practices used by shamanic healers to restore harmony and bring about spiritual and physical healing of community members.  Shamanic Practitioners are trained to treat all humans, animals, plants, elements, and all things on Earth with respect and reverence, being sensitive to individual needs and situations.  Many shamanic healing and counseling practices have been adapted for modern times, and are being used today as complimentary healing alongside traditional medicine and talk therapy.  In particular, soul retrievals have had remarkable results in the empowerment and emotional healing of trauma and abuse victims.  The other practices many shamans use include, but are certainly not limited to:
