Welcome to the June, 2023 Harmony Way Newsletter!

Are we already halfway through 2023?

Where did the time go?!

The pace of life for most of us is fast.

It can fly by so quickly, which means we must be vigilant about being present as often and as much as possible. Moments of stillness, of simply breathing or remembering to drink water mindfully or of walking and admiring nature can be helpful for this, as can spending uninterrupted time with those you love (ideally without cell phones as a distraction).

Wishing you a mindful, restorative month of June.

Please read on for a great walking workout, an important article with facts you need to know about Lyme Disease and a yummy pizza roll recipe, as well

as the usual announcements and bonuses.

Here is a link to a free, hour-long podcast episode where I was a guest in April. In it, I share how emotional and spiritual trauma gets stuck in the body and energy field, how medical professionals/caregivers/first responders and others can manage trauma and stress while taking their power back and explain the differences between Reiki and Core Shamanism:

This Month's Exercise Demo:

Walking and hiking on a mountain path
Walking on a Mountain Path

(From: growwithjo)

Sometimes a walk is all we need to feel a lot better or more clear-headed. A walk can also potentially become a fantastic workout, which is definitely the case with the above video! If you want to lift your mood and energy for the day, need to get some steps in or just want a good workout,

this exercise video is great for all of that!

*This is not medical advice. Always check in with your medical health provider for advice and guidance before starting a new workout program, being mindful of any existing conditions or injuries that you have, discussing these with a qualified medical professional prior to trying any workout.

This Month's Wellness Articles:

Camping in the woods at night
Lyme Disease Awareness

(From: LymeDisease.org)

Tick bites have become a pretty scary and fairly common phenomenon here in the Northeastern US. When I was a child (a long time ago now), no one worried about ticks/tick borne illnesses. We could usually run around freely in nature without ticks being a major issue. Now, however, pretty much every species of tick carries some miserable disease...and they seem to be everywhere!

Here in Massachusetts, the most prevalent ticks are unfortunately deer (aka black-legged) ticks. They are teeny, sneaky and starving for blood. If they latch onto a human or animal, there are multiple different awful illnesses that they can carry. Lyme Disease is only one of them. This article is a must-read, because knowledge is power in the fight against tick-borne illnesses. Learning how to prevent tick bites is useful and necessary. It is possible to enjoy time outdoors safely; but around here, it does take some extra precautions to stay tick bite free.

Be safe this summer!

This Month's Yummy Recipe:

Vegan Pizza Rolls on a plate
Pizza Rolls

(From: Nutriciously)

Vegan, Soy-Free

Pizza = Delicious

Pizza rolls are still super yummy and

are also highly portable and less messy as a bonus!

This recipe could very likely be made gluten-free quite easily (and nut-free as well). You can hide loads of veggies in this dish for picky eaters AND still get to enjoy pizza. That is a win-win situation for the whole family!

PS Meditation doesn't have to be complicated. It can be as simple as stopping to take a few slow, deep breaths, focusing on those breaths, on your muscles relaxing and what they feel like as you breathe, being fully present in the moment.
